What’s BEWILDERING to me is the different responses I’ve
received from several of God’s ministers who have read Beyond
Babylon – towards it and me – before and after Mr. Leap’s
PARTIAL review! (Malachi 2:9).

When I faithfully sent a computer disk with my book on it to
minister Wayne Turgeon, he graciously read all of it and
responded: “Of, how I admire those with both the ability to
write as well as the courage to put down their ideas on paper! I
felt that you have a very gripping style of writing that uses
twists and slants of words or phrases to make your point. I
looked up every scripture you referenced and it became clear
that you have really spent a lot of time in your Bible. Being
Jewish, I think, gives you an added perspective that I could
never have… Much of what you have written is not ‘new
revelation’ as I’m sure that you’d readily agree… It’s
certainly not my place to determine if what you believe God has
shown you is true or not, but would you mind presenting Mr.
Flurry with an abbreviated version of what you feel is
inspired… as I highly doubt that he would have time to read
your whole book.”

What does he mean it’s not his place to determine if what I
wrote is true or not? God holds every INDIVIDUAL responsible to
prayerfully determine whether something is of God or not! How
did we prove Malachi’s Message was biblical? Did we rely solely
on our minister’s evaluation? Worldwide all over again?

Mind you, unlike Mr. Armstrong’s lengthy manuscript of close to
300 typed pages, Beyond Babylon is only 1/2 that size,
literally! I suggested Mr. Flurry read the first and last
chapters. Mr. Turgeon told me Mr. Flurry returned it to him,
saying something like, “He’s always sending us stuff.”

I have written short letters to the point, like correcting him
about Mt. Hermon and Mt. Carmel after he continued to confuse
the two in several articles. I’m familiar with them because I’ve
been blessed to have lived next to both of them! Mr. Turgeon
also wrote that I was a little “too radical” for Mr. Flurry and
wondered what I’d said or done that had given him that
impression. I explained it’s because I took exception to Mr.
Flurry’s careless condemnation of those religious Jews who want
the Temple built as “extremists.” I wrote that it’s extremist
for secular, humanist Jews to oppose converting the Promised
Land into a Holy Land!

Mr. Flurry was surprised and had also written against the STRONG
EMOTIONS some feel over Jerusalem and Israel. How could God use
someone so distant over there?! Some of us have a GOD-GIVEN LOVE
for Jerusalem and a genuine passion for Judah that’s most
personal; we’re not a stranger in OUR Homeland! (Psalms 102:14;
Ps. 137; Isaiah 62). That’s not “radical,” it’s BIBLICAL!

Minister Carl Craven also read Beyond Babylon and acknowledged
it as biblical. He said he hadn’t looked up every scripture, but
was sure if he had they’d also be used correctly. I commented
that I know it’s Biblical, but that I was just waiting for
headquarters to prove that to themselves as well. He expressed
an understanding of how it’s difficult to be patient meanwhile.
When Mr. Leap did call, it was to instruct me to STAY HOME FROM
SABBATH SERVICES while he looked at the book! I didn’t recall
such an unusual request being made of Mr. Armstrong, and
recognized it went against “innocent until proven guilty,” but
obliged with the hope of returning soon (Jn. 7:51).

“Prophesy Not!”

After some time, I called Mr. Leap. He said he’d read PARTS of
the book, and that it wasn’t important whether Mr. Flurry had
read it or not (even though I’d been led to believe he’d pass it
on to him). He stated, “You use some pretty strong language in
there,” to which I replied, “But it’s Biblical, isn’t it?”
“Well, yes, but…”. He also noted, like Mr. Turgeon, that most
of it is what we already teach. I agreed and said that that
should serve as a GOOD SIGN, but that the NEW REVELATION about
the Two Witnesses and Europe is firmly built upon that
foundation.

Mr. Leap found it difficult to accept that a LAY MEMBER would
write such a book. He admitted Mr. Flurry had received bits of
revelation from lay members, but NEVER a whole book! I didn’t
want to be judged by precedent, but by whether or not what I’d
written is biblical. If I was in error, then it was his duty to
clearly show me where FROM THE BIBLE, like Aquilla and Priscilla
helped improve Apollos’ understanding (Acts 18:26).

I was informed if I wanted to return to services, I would have
to forget Beyond Babylon, act like a “regular lay member,” and
basically deny that it was from God! Like Mr. Armstrong, I had
PROVEN what I’d written to be TRUE. Actually, Mr. Leap didn’t
say that it wasn’t or attempt to refute it!

I told Mr. Leap I didn’t want to play politics. By his
insistence that I must be a MINISTER to write such a book, he
was still looking to MEN OF STATURE! And since I’m not one, he
was demanding that I “PROPHESY NOT!” (Amos 2:12).

He got very angry when I mentioned this and said he was severing
all ties between the PCG and myself, and that I wasn’t to claim
any association with the PCG. He said I was now free to go and
do whatever I felt God would have me to do with BB and not worry
whether or not he or Mr. Flurry had read it! When I expressed
the hope of reconciliation, he retorted we could when I
repented. Of what? OBEYING GOD RATHER THAN MAN? Is that
“rebellion?”

Mr Armstrong WASN’T an ordained minister either when he wrote
what he felt GOD would have him to share! The Identity Doctrine
also wasn’t so much new truth, as a new way of presenting it.
I’m sure glad he didn’t let those two points stop him! Aren’t
you? So I was UNJUSTLY DISFELLOWSHIPPED for believing God used
me to write a book, and MARKED for exposing the facts about Mr.
Leap’s folly!

Will Mr. Leap stop being jealous of what God would have me to
offer (I Sam. 2:29)? Will Mr. Flurry HONOR GOD more than a man,
and recognize BB belongs to God and HIS Church? (II Sam. 19:5-7;
Ga. 2:9). Will Mr. Flurry again uphold God’s Word or try and
prop up Mr. Leap and fall with him? (Isa. 22:19). Did God remove
Mr. Amos so Dennis Leap could be used to try us all?(Nahum
1:11). WHY’S THE BIBLE OUT OF THE PICTURE? (In The Philadelphia
Trumpet’s photo of Mr. Flurry). Does Mr. Flurry feel he’s now
got it made? (I Cor. 10:12). A picture’s worth a thousand words!

No Cowards in the Kingdom!

May God give COURAGE to His people! If they’re AFRAID to
question Mr. Leap’s serious actions, how can God expect them to
stand up to the world (Jer. 12:5; Rev. 21:8)? God’s sick of
sycophants and tired of the timid! We’re to be bold as lions
(Dan. 11:32)! We’re supposed to be ready to die for one another,
NOT betray and desert each other! Yet too often the household of
faith has lost its warn and loving environment for an
intimidating atmosphere of fear and oppression (Jer. 12:6)! It’s
pretty bad when you can’t trust your own family (Jer. 9:4)!
Brethren turning in brethren to the “authorities” for wrong
reasons and maliciously reporting on others (I Cor. 5:8). How
COLD-HEARTED (Matt. 10:32-40)!

God pronounces WOE to those who support wrong judgments (Isa.
5:32) and CONDEMNS IT as an ABOMINATION (Prov. 17:15)! He speaks
against SELLING OUT someone to gain an advantage (Ex. 23:8).
Those who’ve become ACCOMPLICES to CHARACTER ASSASSINATION
haven’t just abandoned a Church member, they’re guilty of
BETRAYING CHRIST! (Ex. 20:16; Matt. 10:33). It’s actually God’s
law they’ve thrown out and His Word they’ve despised (Isa.
5:24)! You can’t treat someone so hatefully and fool God that
you love Him (I Jn. 4:20)! You might turn your back on a
brother, but you’re going to FACE GOD (Mk. 9:42)!

Whether you’ve sold out to curry favor with a minister, or to
stay put in an organization or position – that “blood money”
will COST YOU YOUR LIFE! God will JUDGE SUCH PEOPLE (if they
don’t repent) and throw them down from their high and mighty
imaginations and lofty positions (Isa. 22:15-19; Deut. 32:36)!
For those bent on JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS blindly, acting like
GOOD NAZIS, God’s going to give them over to Europe! If that’s
what you want, that’s what you’ll get!

FATHER Knows Best!

Too MANY are still looking to MEN to save them! Is it up to Mr.
Flurry to decide who’ll enter God’s Kingdom? Of course not, and
he’d readily agree, but brethren it’s just as BLASPHEMOUS to
believe it’s up to him or any other MAN to decide who can go to
Petra! Which minister was crucified for you? (I Cor. 1:12- 13;
3:3-9). Into what surname were you baptized? If GOD put you into
HIS Church, can any man put you out? If God have you His Holy
Spirit, can any minister take it away? If God finds you worthy
to escape, can any man prevent it? (Lk. 21:36). WHOSE APPROVAL
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? (Jn. 9:22; 13:42-43).

Aren’t you willing to be like Jesus, who was forsaken by all?
Aren’t you willing to follow Jesus outside the camp, bearing His
reproach and suffering His shame? (Heb. 13:12-13; 2 Tim. 1:8).
Those who put an IDOLATROUS TRUST in ministers or politicians
are going to discover they can’t deliver! (Deut. 32:36-39; Hosea
13:10). Mortals can’t save you or protect you! Besides, if
you’re only trying to save your skin, you’ll lose your hide!
Only Jesus Christ can offer salvation, and only those whom the
FATHER finds worthy will escape! It’s not up to any pastor
general or minister! Many of them will get slaughtered with
THEIR sheep! (I Cor. 9:27; Isa. 46:2).

I don’t have a whole lot of experiences in doing vacations in my later years, but I did do some traveling several years ago. I will write them down as they come to me; they won’t be in a yearly order, but I love all these places for different reasons.

1- Waterbury, Vermont and the surrounding areas are wonderful for the cheese connoisseur like me. I like to go to one of the Cabot stores there; there is another Cabot store in Cabot Vermont. I have been to both. A good time to go is in the fall of the year, so you can see the fiery colors of leaves on the trees.

2- Granville, New York. This is home to the Hicks Apple Farm. This farm is over 100 years old and it was owned by my grandfather. When it was sold in 1978, the name stayed the same. It is so much fun to come here and see what has been done to this farm. The packing house is now also a sit in diner where you sit and eat apple cider and doughnuts. When people come to the Hicks Orchard they come to spend the day. Apple picking starts in September of each year.

3- Cherokee North Carolina is another place I really like to go. I love going into the Native American shops. I stayed with my friend in Big Cove, NC, which is not far from Cherokee. In the summer time there are often singers and guitar players out on the street and you can sit and listen to them.

4- Jekell Island, Georgia is another place that is near and dear to my heart. Jekell is relatively untouched. It has a more natural feel to it. The beaches are not all commercialized. I like walking along the shore picking up sea shells.

5- Tybee Island, GA is an island off from Savannah. I have fun at Tybee also, but there are more people here. The beaches here are more commercialized. There are shops there for you to buy souvenirs and other little what-nots.

6- St. Lawrence Seaway in Messina New York is a wonderful place to go to see the huge ocean vessels go through the locks. You can park your car and watch these ocean liners and cargo ships come through the canal. The St. Lawrence Seaway allows ships to go from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes. You can stand on the New York side and look over the dam and see Montreal Canada.

7- Saratoga Springs, New York is home of the Saratoga Raceway. If you enjoy horse racing this is a place to go in the spring and summer months.

8- Atlanta Georgia is home to the Atlanta Sea Aquarium. This is an awesome place. You walk through a tunnel to get inside the building to see the many exhibits. When you come through the tunnel you are in a tube and around you and above you is the aquarium filled with all kinds of sharks,whales, dolphins, rays and other fish.

9- Coney Island, New York is a great place for seeing the circus, and riding rides. The roller coaster scared me to death. When you go around these curves you are pushed into the person sitting next to you. I have no idea how many G- forces are exerted on these turns but they will make you feel squashed, but it is so much fun. There is also an aquarium on Coney Island.

10- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is the place to go during the summer festivals. There is all kinds of music and food offered at these festivals. Enjoy the ocean and walk the streets munching on all the good stuff for sale.

Bradley is finally starting to look like the player that we saw last year as spring training is winding down. Bradley has been in the major leagues since 2000 and has compiled a career .280 batting average while driving in nearly 400 runs. The Cubs will be the seventh team that Bradley has spent time on in the majors. He has also played for the Expos, Indians, Dodgers, Athletics, Padres, and Rangers. Although his numbers don’t look all that impressive for a guy who has been in the league for nearly ten years, you have to look at what he has done recently to see what kind of player we really have. Injuries have greatly cut into Bradley’s playing time in the past. He has only played over 100 games in a season three times in his career.

The market for Bradley this off season was much smaller than expected for a guy of his talent level. Many believe that Bradley is a locker room poison, and that he can tear a clubhouse apart.

In 2007, while playing for the San Diego Padres, Bradley suffered a torn ACL during an altercation with first base umpire Mike Winters. Winters had alleged that Bradley had thrown his bat at another player earlier in the game and Bradley questioned him about it after reaching first base in his next at bat. Winters used profanity towards Bradley, who then had to be restrained by his first base coach from going after Winters. While being restrained Bradley fell, tearing his ACL and ending his season. The Cubs front office looked into these issues seriously, and questioned many former teammates who all said that Bradley was a great teammate.

Bradley is coming off the best season of his career, in which he hit .321 in 115 games and drove in 75 runs.

Currently Bradley is on a 10 game hitting streak after going 4 for 4 at the plate on Monday.

In December 2003 we have celebrated 100 years of powered air flight. Century-long progress of aviation is amazing. Indeed, if we will look at the differences between Kitty Hawk and some flying marvel of modern technology, like, say, B-2 Spirit, we will see the changes of century-long progress. They are breathtaking. If only Orville and Wilbur Wright could see how far their experimentation with glued spruce and bicycle spokes will go.

There are signs that he way of progress is not always accompanied by roar and fumes. One day the limited supply of fossil fuels and inevitably growing price on use of incinerating technologies will put an end to everything that moves out of combustion. It is quite likely, that when this day will come, the spiral of progress will return us back to a pastoral reality of Huffman Prairie, field where Wright flyers were developed.

Fumes and noise will be gone, and instead there will be light. And the light will keep our new silent flyers to go farther and longer than we could ever dream.

The aircraft of the future will be powered by light and it will be fumeless and noiseless. It will be driven by solar energy during the day and by beamed light energy during night. It will be serving to the needs of local individual transportation (substituting modern cars): even the range of daily transportation will be expanded from exhausting today 50 miles of driving to several hundred miles of pleasant flight. (Similar change happened with advent of Ford T and dwindling of horse-powered transportation). Scaled-up planes will work as long-distance passenger carriers, jumbo jets will be history. Never again the price of fuel will dictate the cost of long distance travel.

So what will be the specifics of such aircraft?

It will be built from lightweight composites.

The upper surface of airplane wings will be covered with solar cells. During the day flight the photovoltaic elements will convert light energy into electricity, which will run the motors of the plane. Part of this energy will be accumulated in the batteries for keeping engines running when the light is blocked by clouds or during the night. Sounds like too much dependence on capricious weather and too much battery weight? Perhaps, but the beamed energy can permanently fix both problems: reduce battery weight and eliminate the risk of power outage. Of course, this will take a network to build, but the effort will bring hundredfold benefits.

Imagine a network of airborne power stations, which will charge the passing aircraft with beamed energy of light. The stations can be lifted on aerostats fixed at 3 to 5 thousand feet altitudes and equipped with directed light sources (spotlights or lasers, this will depend on the range and type of photovoltaic elements on planes). Each airborne station could cover an area of at least 120 square miles. Alternatively, the beaming sources can be placed on towers: this will reduce the range of coverage and require additional photovoltaic cells on lower surfaces of the flyers. For the same time, ground-based stations will be much easier in operation and maintenance, not to mention building costs. The stations will be beaming light at passing aircraft and literally re-charging it with electricity.

Power beaming will be something similar to modern day in-flight fueling, excepting that the process will be much easier and safer to perform and it will be available to everyone. If in-flight charging still sounds too logistically challenging, as an intermediate solution the stations could charge hovering flyers, the process somewhat similar to modern-day car fueling at gas stations. In this case in-flight power beaming will be the next step of developing technology. Individual aircraft will fly in the night from station to station and as far as the network goes (on-board batteries will cover dark zones). When sun rises, the stations will be turned off till the next sundown or cloudy day.

I hope that this is where we are going now. Just imagine the inevitable: there will be the day when internal-combustion engines will become part of a history and individual, family-owned, light aircraft, likely capable of hovering, vertical take-off and landing (somewhat like tiltrotor V-22 Osprey) will be flying daily and safely from point A to point B without air pollution, without fumes and noise. They will rule the sky day and night. How realistic is this? There are full-scale working prototypes. Hurricane storm surge flooding causes a tremendous amount of damage. These storm surges are considered to be the cause for 90% of deaths that occur when hurricanes come ashore. Although inland flooding has been responsible for the greatest number of deaths in recent years, storm surges still remain the largest single threat related to hurricanes.

Storm surge is the water that is pushed toward the shore by the force and strength of the winds circling around center of the storm. This water that is being pushed towards the sore gains even more force when it is combined with the force of the normal incoming tide. This hurricane storm tide increases the water level by 15 feet or higher. The strong winds associated with the hurricane also create wind driven waves on top of the hurricane storm tide.

This increased water level can cause additional flooding along the shoreline, especially when the storm tide and the regular high tide happen at the same time.

The fact that hurricanes have the potential to elevate the surging water level 10 feet or more above the mean sea level, this represents a significant danger to much of the United States Atlantic and Gulf coast areas. This is the main reason that these coast areas are evacuated as the hurricanes approach.

The height of the waves and the storm surge when they the shore is also affected by the shape of the ocean floor. In very specific areas, the height of the storm surge is determined by the slope of the continental shelf. A long shallow slope along the coastline will allow the surge to submerge coastal areas and housing developments.
